In the future, many doors are open for bone carvers from the Kholmogorsk school. Specialists will be able to work with stone and jewelry. Evgeny Kolmogortsev, director of the vocational school No. 27 named after N. D. Butorin: “Plus our guys from this year will receive a second specialty, the profession – a teacher of additional education.” And they can work in any circles, any clubs, lead any sections for children, for adults, in areas related to art. This is the drawing, this is the sculpture, this is the modeling.” After that, students can get higher education. The school signed a contract with the Higher School of Folk Arts of St. Petersburg. Daria Tomilova: You can study bone carving in seven more educational institutions throughout Russia, but only here can children get a real profile education. Each year, the enrollment of students is small – only 12 people. Next year, the school is already receiving applications from children from other regions.”.
