The film is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of St. Petersburg conductor Alexander Dmitriev. In 1966 he was awarded the title of laureate of the II All-Union Conductor Competition. In 1968-1969 he held an internship at the Vienna Academy of Music and Performing Arts, and in 1969-1970 he was an assistant to E.A. Mravinsky. Since 1977 he has been chief conductor and artistic director of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic.
