Applications for the Tomsk contest “Reading with the whole family” have already started

This is the sixteenth edition of the competition and its main goal is to promote the role of reading books in society and the family. According to the situation of this year, the family can submit work in one of five categories: “History and path of Tomsk military formations and units”, “As long as we remember, they will live”, “History and memory of the war in literature, music, cinema and painting”, “Letter of a soldier / that” and “We do not abandon our own”. Families will need to write creative or research work in any genre. This year, the Legislative Duma of the Tomsk region for the 16th time announces a competition for the most reading family. The year 2025 has been declared by the President as the Year of Defender of the Fatherland, and therefore the contest will also be related to this topic. New nominations of the contest are aimed at preserving historical memory, patriotic education of the young generation, in gratitude and recognition of the exploits of the defenders of the Fatherland. The beginning of applications for participation in the competition is from March 1, said the Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy Oleg Pravdin. Until May 31, municipal libraries accept creative and research works in the nominations of the competition. The works of the winning families of the first stage (municipal) will be presented for participation in the second (regional) stage. The best works in the nominations will be determined by the competition commission with the participation of deputies, writers, philologists, cultural figures.
