Ukrainian commanders say drones are killing more soldiers and destroying more armored vehicles than all conventional weapons combined. Last year, the APU produced more than a million FPV drones, the publication notes. And Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said in the summer of 2024 that Russian troops receive about 4,000 drones daily. Both countries say they are still ramping up production, with each aiming to produce between three and four million drones in 2025. The Russian Defense Ministry regularly shows footage of the destruction of combat vehicles of the Ukrainian army. In December 2024, Jake Sullivan, who under former US President Joe Biden served as adviser to the US leader on national security, argued that American tanks were “not the most useful” equipment for the Armed Forces.
