Centers for studying Russian abroad will appear in the African states of Eritrea and Burkino Faso. This task was assigned to the South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University.
Centers for studying Russian abroad will appear in the African states of Eritrea and Burkino Faso. This task was assigned to the South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University. Since 2023, the university has been implementing this project in the republics of Mali and Senegal, where four such centers have already been opened. “Today, students from the Republic of Mali and the Republic of Senegal, who have already been trained by our teachers in their homeland, have come to our university to continue their studies in the preparatory department. Also, two partners from Mali visited Chelyabinsk on a return visit. In September 2024, training courses were held for our Malian colleagues. As for the work of our teachers, it all happens in person. Our teachers travel to the African continent in pairs. On average, such a trip takes from a month to a month and a half, says Lyubov Anfalova, acting head of the department for international activities of the university. During the two years of work, 16 educational programs were developed and implemented and almost 1,500 African students were trained. Many of them continued their studies in Russia. At the moment, the university is developing new educational programs and cultural and educational courses. In the near future, teachers of pedagogical university will go to the African continent to teach foreigners the Russian language, traditions and culture.
