The picture about the Georgian life of the late XIX century Georgy Danelia was going to shoot on Mosfilm, but first went to Tbilisi. At the film studio "Georgia-film" he asked to give him a screenwriter for the future film. This screenwriter was Rezo Gabriadze. The picture “Do not grieve” (1969) turned out to be similar to life: at first easy and carefree youth, then the funny becomes less and less, and the tragedies and trials – more. They say this: journalist Yuri Rost, film critic Sergei Kapkov, theater critic Eugene Kuznetsova. Archival records of Vakhtang Kikabidze, Gia Kancheli, Rezo Gabriadze were used.
