On February 15, 1989, the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan was completed. That military conflict lasted almost ten years. Since 2010, February 15 in Russia is celebrated as the Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-Internationalists. On this day, mourning and patriotic actions are held throughout the country. We met with one of the veterans of the fighting in Afghanistan, Sergey Karabajak.
