He believes that the high duties imposed by Trump on steel and aluminum from the European Union will allow American companies to occupy their own, more profitable niche in the market. “Here’s the mechanism that Trump has shown on steel and aluminum, it will continue to work.” And this policy, it will simply clear the American market. That's what Trump wants. He wants to expand American industry, Koltashov said. The economist explained that Donald Trump is trying to achieve overproduction and excess of goods in the European Union. This, in turn, will lead to the death of European enterprises and to the further replacement of their own goods with American products, Koltashov concluded.
