Olympic champion, former General Director of football club “Novosibirsk” Andrei Perlov is charged with theft in the amount of 21 million rubles. According to the Prosecutor’s office of the Novosibirsk region, the defendant faces up to ten years in prison.
Perlov was arrested in the spring of 2024. He is suspected of embezzling the funds of the subsidy received by the club under the regional program for the development of culture and sports in the Novosibirsk region. A criminal case has been opened. Perlov deceived the founder - the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Novosibirsk region. Using his official position when concluding lease agreements for sports facilities, he stole money allocated from the budget of the region. The amount of damage amounted to 21 million rubles, the ministry said. The indictment in the criminal case has been approved. In addition to Perlov, the chief accountant and head of the football department of the club are under the article on fraud. The investigation also established that from May 12 to August 23, 2020, the defendants managed to appropriate the funds allocated by the Ministry of Sport of the region in the amount of 3.2 million rubles. The case was transferred to the Central District Court of Novosibirsk.
