The Bolshoi Festival of Russian Music was established by the famous Serbian director Emir Kusturica in 2013. The main idea of the festival is to support young talents from music schools and academies of the Republic of Serbia, as well as from the regions of Russia. The festival is a platform for dialogue between talented young people of Russia and Serbia, provides an opportunity to exchange experience, forms musical ties. The festival includes a compulsory competition and cultural program. Young performers compete in the performance of classical and modern works by Russian and Serbian composers. The non-competitive cultural program is represented by concerts and performances of famous Russian and Serbian musicians. Drvengrad venue. The wooden town of Mechavnik is a unique architectural masterpiece of the Emir Kusturica, in itself is an ideal place for the festival. The town was built in the mountains of Serbia for the filming of the film “Life as a Miracle” by Emir Kusturica. Now the village is constantly visited by tourists, as well as film and music festivals.
