📝 Summary
The strike of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the Iskander-M missile complex on the Novomoskovskiy military training ground in the Dnipropetrovsk region occurred due to the indifference of Ukrainian commanders to subordinates, according to the American website of the Forbes publication with reference to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the authors of the publication, there were no camouflage nets, shelters and any air defenses at the training ground that could protect soldiers in open areas. “Base command was usually indifferent to the vulnerability of trainees,” the article said. The Iskander-M strike occurred on the evening of March 1. At the training ground there were military exercises of the 157th Mechanized Brigade of the AFU. The Ukrainian side tried to hide the consequences of the strike, where, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, 150 soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces died, including 30 foreign mercenaries. Subsequently, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major-General Mikhail Drapatiy, admitted striking and losing personnel. After that, the APU appointed a check with the participation of counterintelligence officers.
