📝 Summary

Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Kirill Polyakov shared plans for the preservation of historical sites on the way of construction of a high-speed highway between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

In an interview with TASS, he said that the Navy will pass through the warehouses of the Kokorevs, which will return to its original appearance. It is planned to integrate them into the terminal platform for the arrival of trains. “Kokorev warehouses remain in place, they will simply be integrated inside the platform, that is, the train will drive directly inside the warehouse,” the vice governor said. He also confirmed that several houses of the Pharforovsky post were moved to preserve their historical status. However, some of them will still be resettled. He added that the government of St. Petersburg and Russian Railways will resolve the issue of resettlement of residents whose apartments will be seized for the construction of the highway. He stressed that the interests of the owners and residents of the city will be taken into account in any case. According to Polyakov, a positive expert opinion for the entire project in St. Petersburg should be obtained in 2025. Recall that the opening of passenger traffic on HSR is scheduled in 2028. The route will cover the distance between Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
