Horse breeding is an important part of the cultural traditions of the Cossack region. State support funds will be used for the development of equestrian sports sections, the organization of long race seasons from April to November, the financing of breeding farms and prize payments. Last year, the region spent 24 race days at the Krasnodar and Pavlovsk hippodromes: 232 races, 1,445 starts, tests of 684 breeding horses, and Kuban riders entered the top 10 of the all-Russian rating. Now in the region there are 8.3 thousand horses, including 1.4 thousand breeding (pure-blooded riding, Trakenen, Kabardin and other breeds). They are grown by 11 large farms, farmers and private horse breeders. The plans for this year are to increase the number of livestock, expand the number of breeding farms and improve the conditions for testing horses at racetracks, the press service of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
