How to choose a profession for “special” children

Thus, thanks to the national project, classrooms and equipment were updated in the Magadan Regional Education Center No. 1. Its specialists have developed adaptive programs for students with various health characteristics, and now absolutely everyone can find here a business with which he wants to connect the future. “Today, the training workshops of Magadan Regional Education Center No. 1 enable students to master modern technologies and develop professional competencies necessary for future careers, while modern equipment and technologies allow teachers to use innovative teaching methods, and students to gain deeper and more versatile knowledge. The material and technical base of the center was updated in 2020 according to the national project “Education”, the regional Ministry of Education reported. This school has well-equipped classrooms of primary classes, manual labor, geography, Russian language, mathematics, history. It also has a music hall, a sensory room, speech therapy rooms and a psychomotor study. In addition to general education, students are engaged in workshops, where they can learn sewing, plumbing and carpentry, home economics and other applied professions. All of them are adapted for children with a variety of health characteristics, which means that every child here can try themselves in one or another occupation to choose a future career. I know firsthand the respect our president [Vladimir Putin] has for working people. It is from this message that the colossal transformations in the field of secondary special education began, and we see how the authority of a person in working specialty is growing, said Sergey Nosov, Governor of the Magadan Region. But this is not the only school adapted for the “special” children in the region. In 2021, according to the national project, the material and technical base of the Magadan Regional Boarding School was updated, where orphans and toddlers left without parental care are trained according to adapted educational programs. Work in this direction in the Magadan region does not stop. In 2025, the modernization and development of the school system continues, but under the new national project “Youth and Children”. The high level of education available to every Kolymsk resident is the most important condition under which our region and the whole country form their strong future and give their citizens a comfortable present. That is why the Magadan region is making so much effort in this regard. As one of the results, young people from other regions also show interest in secondary vocational education (SPO) in Kolyma. Our colleges and schools selected 117 students from 31 subjects of the country. There are 51 modern workshops in the Magadan region. At the end of 2024, the academic scholarship for students of secondary special educational institutions in the region increased and amounted to 23,109 rubles. Thanks to these and other measures, the Magadan region ranks second in Russia in terms of employment of secondary vocational education graduates: 82% of them are employed by enterprises of the region. “We open new workshops, equip educational institutions, involve the best employers in the educational process, good and excellent students receive a decent scholarship. A record number of applications are received from those wishing to obtain a working specialty in our SPO system. Young people choose professions that will allow them to become high-class specialists, realize ambitions, get a good salary, said Sergey Nosov, the head of the region. An important milestone in the development of vocational education in the region was the opening at the end of 2024 of a new building of the Magadan Polytechnic College. Thanks to this, students have 17 equipped laboratories "Professionality", a modern gym, a spacious dining room. The President of the country Vladimir Putin notes the important role of the federal project “Professionality”, as well as the career guidance of schoolchildren in training personnel for the modern economy. On the principles of close cooperation between education and real sector enterprises, we are implementing the Professionality project. It allowed to update educational programs for aviation and shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, electronics, defense and other industries. About a million specialists of working professions will be trained for these spheres until 2028. Such approaches should be extended to the entire system of secondary vocational education, including training for schools, hospitals, clinics, services, tourism, cultural institutions, creative industries, the head of state said. As for educational institutions in general, in 2024 the region managed to maintain and even expand the network of organizations subordinated to the relevant ministry. Their number was replenished by the Engineering School built on the national project in the Third microdistrict of Magadan, designed for 530 children. There are classes of holography, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, eSports, natural science laboratories. Another important part of the work on the development of education is the expansion of opportunities for children in Kolyma districts. So, last year there were centers "Growth Point" in Yagodninsky and Olsky municipalities, the center of digital educational environment in the village of Debin, Yagodninsky district, gyms were overhauled and sports clubs were created in three schools of Magadan. And in the regional capital opened its center "IT-cube" on the basis of school No. 15. All this huge work is carried out at all levels and is aimed at one important thing: to help a small Kolymsk resident choose what he will do in the future, teach him everything and help him become a worthy citizen of his country
