I love my Russia. Lipetsk - Sand

Every year on the Trinity in the village of Volchye of the Dubrovsky district of the Lipetsk region, local residents lay out on the streets of the village drawings of multicolored sand, similar to unique carpets. This ancient custom exists only here. There is a legend: when the Lord walked on the earth, rich people spread out the most beautiful carpets for Him, but the poor did not have them, and they decorated the paths to the house with light sand. The Lord saw this and walked down the sandpaper. Since then, these patterns have been called the paths of God.
