In Kuban will use even more domestic seeds

The readiness of the regions for spring field work was discussed today at a meeting of the Operational Staff to ensure the stable functioning of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Oksana Lut. This year, the total sown area in Russia will be almost 84 million hectares, of which 55.8 million hectares are allocated for spring crops. It is planned to increase the crops of oilseeds and fodder crops, sugar beets, vegetables and potatoes. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation focused on the need to increase the share of sowing domestic seeds. Vice-Governor of Kuban Andrei Korobka reported that in the Krasnodar region winter crops overwintered well, critical temperatures were not observed. In general, the state of crops along the edge is noted as good and satisfactory on 99.7% of the area. In mid-February, farms began the first spring feeding with nitrogen fertilizers. Due to the weather, this work has been suspended. As soon as it gets warmer, farmers will return to it and conduct at an accelerated pace. There are resources for this in the farms. For spring sowing, the agrarians of the Kuban are fully ready. The area under these crops is preserved at the level of last year - 1.8 million hectares. The total demand for seeds for the spring sowing campaign is 96 thousand tons. Farmers are provided with them in full. Almost 36 thousand units of agricultural machinery will be involved in the spring field work. The Vice-Governor added that this year it is planned to increase the share of use of domestic seeds. In 2024, they planted 47% of corn crops, 49% of sunflower crops, and 9% of sugar beets. In this, according to forecasts, the share of domestic seeds in sunflower and corn will be about 55%, sugar beet - 15%. Earlier in the news of the Krasnodar Territory: More than 1.1 billion rubles in the Kuban were directed to the development of production of building materials.
