About the initiation of the case reports the Agency TASS with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies. It is noted that the case was initiated under part 2 of article 201 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation (“Abuse of authority, entailed serious consequences”). According to law enforcement officers, unidentified officials knew about the increase in prices for grade coal in 2025. At the same time, they did not supply the residents of Kuzbass with 115 thousand tons of coal at preferential rates for heating residential buildings in winter. In fact, a criminal case was opened on abuse of power, which entailed grave consequences. Earlier in the media there was information that CPC refuses to sell Kuzbassov class coal at preferential prices. Governor of the Kemerovo region Ilya Serdyuk commented on the situation, noting that it is associated with the crisis.
