In Karachay-Cherkessia opened a criminal case of negligence (part 3 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) after the death of two people as a result of a snow avalanche. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee (SK).

In Karachay-Cherkessia opened a criminal case of negligence (part 3 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) after the death of two people as a result of a snow avalanche. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee (SK).
According to the data, from 17 to 21 February in Karachay-Cherkessia sent 15 employees of the fire and rescue service of the Stavropol Territory to conduct training camps for mining training and search and rescue operations in difficult natural conditions. On February 19, two employees of the service, along with a man who does not have admission to participate in the training camp, moved along the mountain route, without taking measures to ensure security and ignoring the likelihood of snow avalanches. "As a result of negligence committed during the organization of these training camps, a group of people following the route was in the epicenter of what happened at the time of the avalanche, which led to the death of one of the rescue workers and the above man," the ministry said. Investigators and criminologists examined the scene, seized items and traces necessary for the criminal case, questioned other rescue service workers and appointed a number of forensic examinations. The investigation is ongoing.
