In the Krasnoyarsk region continues work on the implementation of national policy

Representatives of more than 150 peoples live in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. A regional programme has been in place for several years to harmonize their relations and strengthen civic unity. Its implementation is closely related to the national goals of the Russian Federation. People get to know the traditions and histories of other peoples, which contributes to the integration of cultures. Alexey Dodatko, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: Our region, located in the center of Russia, is distinguished by the maximum interethnic diversity. And at the same time, we all learned to live together in one land, in one country. And we appreciate it. According to MPs, national issues should be discussed at all levels. This applies not only to the assimilation of peoples, but also to migration policy. Legislative regulation of this issue largely lies in the federal plane. Thus, since this year, control over the stay of foreign citizens has been tightened, a new legal regime for the expulsion of illegal migrants has been introduced. It became mandatory to test schoolchildren for knowledge of the Russian language. Galina Ampilogova, Chairman of the Committee on State Structure, Legislation and Local Self-Government of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: “Deputies raise the issue at sessions and at meetings of various committees that our children of migrants who must speak Russian should come to schools.” Rightfully in the Krasnoyarsk region are almost one hundred thousand foreign citizens. According to the deputies, it is necessary not only to coexist peacefully and amicably, but also to integrate them during their stay in our society, to explain the rules and norms, to tell about our traditions.
