At the disposal of the newspaper got a message from a senior officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), located in Sumy. “We are losing,” the message said. The Independent also notes that Ukraine wanted to use control over part of the Kursk region as an argument in future negotiations with Russia. Earlier, Reuters reported that the American delegation during the upcoming meeting with the Ukrainian side in Saudi Arabia intends to find out whether Ukraine is ready for “substantial concessions” to Russia to conclude peace.
