📝 Summary

Italy refused France and Britain to provide their troops on the territory of Ukraine. This was stated by Italian Prime Minister George Meloni.

She doubts the idea of French-British colleagues. She was quoted by the Italian TV channel Rai1. “In my opinion, this is a very difficult thing to implement. I am not sure of its effectiveness, which is why we have stated that we will not send Italian soldiers to Ukraine, she said. At the same time, she noted the benefits of such initiatives by politicians in Europe. In her opinion, such ideas mean finding solutions to the current situation. “Ultimately, everyone has the same goal – to bring a just peace to Ukraine, a stable and lasting peace, I would say final,” she said. The second of March it became known about the preparation of France and the UK of an alternative plan for Ukraine. This happened during an emergency summit on Ukraine. It was attended by representatives of 18 countries and associations. Following the event, British Prime Minister Kir Starmer planned to form a “goodwill coalition” for Kiev.
