The Russian Post sends a questionnaire and kits for taking biomaterial - a smear on the inside of the cheek. It also sends it to a genotyping lab for free. Bone marrow transplantation is necessary, for example, in the treatment of leukemia, some genetic diseases. For a potential donor to become real, it is necessary that his phenotype coincides with the phenotype of the sick person. According to statistics provided on the registry website, only about 1% of the declared donors can become real.
