The light and joyful plots of Sergei Vinogradov’s paintings go against the dramatic events of the first third of the XX century, as if the artist paints another life – partly invented, desired, partly real. In times of revolution, the master carefully avoids any hint of changing circumstances. He poetizes life and looks at everything from the outside: the landscapes are full of colors, the Moscow streets are illuminated by the sun, bright and clean colors hide the signs of poverty in the surrounding world.
