In the fifth year of the festival, we would like to establish new rules: the Tolstoy festival in Yasnaya Polyana, of course, should, first of all, collect the best performances based on the works and biography of Lev Nikolayevich, as well as provoke the creation of new ones. But at the same time, it is important to look at the situation around, to observe parallel lines in culture, to talk about the era of Tolstoy (from the 1850s to the 1910s), to try to see the “Tolstoy” in modern art. In the future, the sixth festival, this part will expand, said Pavel Rudnev, program director of the festival.
