Toyota executives held a secret meeting with former Russian dealers in Dubai to discuss the return of the company to the Russian market.
According to the publication of the Telegram channel Mash, a group of several dozen people were invited at the expense of the company: it paid them a round trip business class flight and accommodation in the UAE from 9 to 12 February. Participants were also asked to sign non-disclosure documents. Representatives of Toyota promised to return to the Russian market as soon as circumstances allow. At the meeting, the automaker apologized to the Russian side for the decision to leave the market, the cessation of supplies and measures to combat imports. According to the company, they did not want such an outcome, but were forced to react to the situation. Toyota said that as soon as the situation changes, they will be the first to stand on the threshold. According to preliminary information, the next such meeting may take place this month. Earlier, the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in an interview with the author and co-host of the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” Pavel Zarubin said that the company Renault, which left Russia, is unlikely to be able to regain its position. Agency RIA Novosti, having studied the results of financial reports of foreign companies, estimated that the withdrawal from Russia cost foreign brands $ 14 billion.
