He commented on the talks held in Istanbul between the Russian and American delegations on the problems of the work of embassies. “The Americans are tough adversaries, they have always been hard to talk to. But judging by the available statements, the parties appreciate and respect each other. The conversation with America looks correct and suggests the possibility of continuation, the expert explained. The chief researcher of the Institute of Europe RAS believes that compromises between Russia and the United States are possible. The Americans most wanted to achieve compromises on Ukraine during the negotiations, and it was important for the Russian delegation to improve relations with the United States, reach a higher level of mutual understanding, and clear up the rubble in the diplomatic sphere. And there are no fundamentally insoluble things, Nikolai Mezhevich stressed.
