The Treaty on Security Assurances between Russia and Belarus, according to which an attack on one country is considered an aggression against the Union State as a whole, has come into force. This was announced by Vladimir Putin, exchanging with Alexander Lukashenko letters of ratification of the agreement. For the Belarusian leader, today’s visit to Russia was the first since his re-election in January.
