<div class="brand-main-item_body brand-main-item__body-short"> <p>The first documentary dedicated to the feat of Matryona Volskaya, according to the memoirs of the organizers and participants of the transition, was made by a journalist of Gorky TV Natalia Drozdova.</p> In the summer of 1942, a 23-year-old partisan Matryona Volskaya with two friends led 3,225 children from the occupied villages and villages of Smolensk region to the rear in one crossing - without losses. 200 kilometers - through forests, swamps, minefields, under bombardments, the children's "army", headed by Volskaya, went to their own. Then Matryona accompanied the children to the Gorky region. The young teacher remained in the Gorodetsky district, waited from the front of her guerrilla husband. She worked in a rural school and never told anyone about Operation Children. This feat would have remained unknown had it not been for Volskaya’s comrades in battle and the children she saved. </p> </div>
