Alexander Gulyakov was a member of the delegation of our region at the Ninth Conference on Interregional Cooperation. Throughout its history, Penza State University has paid great attention to international cooperation. Today, about 2.5 thousand foreign students from 47 countries of the world study at PSU. 470 of them are from Tajikistan. They mainly choose medicine, but in the last couple of years they have actively started to enter technical specialties, because specialists of this profile have become in demand for neighboring countries. Students are attracted to both the quality of education and Penza in general. PSU has been cooperating with Tajikistan since 2014. A new vector of cooperation was determined at a conference held in a friendly country in early March. “Taking part in this session, the Minister of Education of Tajikistan suggested that there was a shortage of graduate teachers. That is, teachers who have a degree of candidate, doctor of science. For the simple reason that they lack dissertation advice. We only have 10 dissertation tips. We are ready to accept their applicants here for consideration and protection, said PSU Rector Alexander Gulyakov. In addition to opportunities for students, Penza State University provides academic exchange of teachers to gain additional experience and improve the quality of education. Science is an international phenomenon. That is why the PSU does not stand still, and takes a focus on the countries of the near abroad, as well as China, India, Egypt, Arab and African states.
