N. Selishchev Children’s Art School. They extract clay in the village of Pleshkovo, Livensky district. In the XVII century, pottery was developed there, and in addition to dishes, sculpting and toys, children for fun. Soft, malleable gray clay. But the peculiarity of it is that after firing it turns into a delicate pink, slightly shiny - it is interspersed with mica. The whistles from this clay are very ringing. In the old days in Pleshkovo there was a festival of "whistling": they bragged about the skill of whistling, the toys themselves and blew all the evil spirits out of the village. And to make the whistle sound, mold it using a special technology. Ekaterina Kunina is herself a pupil of this school. Here she was taught to mold and instilled interest in this fishery. She is now a co-author of a method designed to obtain a patent. It describes the stages of creating all 23 traditional Pleshkov figurines. “Text part reflecting step-by-step molding. And all this is accompanied by photos of each stage: sculpting, firing, painting and other moments, said the teacher of the Children’s Art School named after A. N. Daria Gomzhina, like other pupils of the school, is just learning to sculpt, but has already represented local folk craft at a craft festival in the neighboring region. “It was necessary to compose a composition from a Pleshkov toy,” said Daria Gomzhin, a student of the Children’s Art School named after A.
