According to him, the Ukrainian military did not expect to stay long in a small village. Colonel Sergey Chebnev was awarded the title of Hero of Russia for a feat during the defense of the village of Malaya Loknya in the Kursk region. He was one of the first to take the blow of Ukrainian militants who invaded the Kursk region. Chebnev commanded three regiments and held the defense in the area of Malaya Lokni for 12 days.
