Russian fighter-bomber su-34 struck a stronghold of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk border, according to the defense Ministry.
The strike was carried out by aerial bombs with universal planning and correction modules (UMPK), the Defense Ministry notes. “Having received confirmation from intelligence about the destruction of personnel and the stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Su-34 safely returned to the departure airfield,” the ministry said. Over the past day, the AFU lost 160 servicemen and 12 UAV control points in the Kursk direction. At the same time, 12 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk region (from August 6, 2024), the enemy lost 64,695 soldiers, 382 tanks, 291 infantry fighting vehicles, 253 armored personnel carriers, 2,119 armored vehicles, 2,284 cars, 508 guns, 52 launchers of multiple launch rocket systems, the Defense Ministry concludes. The morale of the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been greatly weakened, they are throwing expensive military equipment and drones into the Kursk border, VGTRK military correspondent Stanislav Bernwald said.
