The American president accused Zelensky of disrespect for the United States and unwillingness to seek peace. Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson later urged Zelensky to return to the negotiating table, noting that otherwise Ukraine would have to be headed by another leader. Zelensky later apologized, expressing regret over the incident, and agreed to resume negotiations as soon as possible. On Wednesday, it became known that Washington and Kiev agreed on a meeting of negotiating teams in the near future. The Kremlin said that Zelensky’s behavior in the White House confirms Moscow’s view of Kiev’s reluctance to compromise as the main obstacle to resolving the conflict.
