The project provides not only acquaintance with the history of metallurgy development, but also the opportunity to get to the production site, where you can observe the process with your own eyes. “Tourism is an experience industry. Today we get the impression of the so-called wow effect. Therefore, of course, such industrial excursion programs will be very popular, said tour operator manager Alexei Chashchin. The route "Metallurgy through the centuries" begins with the XVIII and XIX centuries, when the production of iron and cast iron in Polevsky was just beginning, and continues in our century, where metallurgists use advanced technologies in production. “We would like tourists to have the opportunity to see what this enterprise is, how complex it is, how innovative it is. And, of course, this in a certain way forms public opinion about such professions as metallurgy, said Dmitry Markov, managing director of the Seversky Pipe Plant. “It is a trend. When tourists will be able to visit industrial sites along with historical and cultural attractions, said Anna Trepalova, Head of Industrial Tourism at Pipe Metallurgical Company. In 2025, the museum of the Seversky Pipe Plant celebrates its 55th anniversary, and the domna itself celebrates its 165th anniversary. The museum holds 30,000 unique exhibits related to the history of the Ural metallurgy. Employees of the "Severskaya Domna" calculated that there are more than 20 thousand people a year here. “Of course, the opening of the industrial route will lead to the fact that there will be a tangible surge of interest in the blast furnace, as a metallurgical object in the past, and to the production itself,” said Daria Ryapusova, head of the Severskaya Domna museum complex. And maybe the industrial route will inspire some of the young visitors so much that they will choose a metallurgical profession in the future.
