Evening of Igor Ilyinsky. Concert performance of the stories of A. P. Chekhov: “The night before the court”, “Boots”, “Orator”. On the eve of the trial, a gentleman accused of bigamy stops in the station "rooms". Seeing a young lady there, he wants to meet and introduces himself as a doctor. But she calls her husband, and he kindly asks the doctor to examine his wife. They cheerfully spend the night behind a samovar, and in the morning, having received a fee, the "doctor" recognizes his acquaintance in the prosecutor. Piano tuner Murkin, not finding his boots in the morning, calls a corridorman, who explains that being in a strong drink, took his boots to actor Blistanov, who slept in the room ... at the wife of his friend. Arriving to the actor for boots in the theater, Murkin asks to return them and in the presence of his friend ... tells the story of the corridor in detail! Grigory Petrovich Zapoykin, who has “a rare talent to give impromptu wedding, anniversary and funeral speeches”, is asked to come to the funeral of a collegiate assessor. Not knowing exactly who is buried, he delivers a farewell speech, in which he recalls the life of the deceased in all details, without noticing that the “deceased” ... stands next to him.
