She faces up to 10 years in prison. "The reason for initiating a criminal case against Ekaterina Barabash was four posts in the social network Facebook (banned in Russia) with false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces," a source in law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti. According to the investigation, the messages published on social networks contained deliberately false information about the actions of the Russian army on the territory of another state. At the same time, access to publications had an unlimited number of users. Barabash herself admitted guilt in full during the interrogation.
