The exhibition "Yes, you are Ranevskaya!" is held in the Old English courtyard

Faina Ranevskaya called the Eighth of March "my personal calamity." And yet it is she – the queen of the episode – who is remembered on the eve of International Women’s Day in the Old English Courtyard of Zaryadye Park. The exhibition “You are Ranevskaya!” recreates the living room in the Moscow apartment of the great actress. Anastasia Pavlova will continue. “You are Ranevskaya!” – Faina Georgievna heard this phrase countless times. But who is she really? To answer the question, the organizers of the exhibition recreated a corner from Ranevskaya’s apartment – her personal space filled with memories, things and stories. This is an actress costume. All exhibits are brought from the Taganrog Museum – its homeland – and are exhibited for the first time. “For her, home has always been a place where she has always lived with someone. I mean, either she lived with someone. Or someone lived with her all the time. And this last apartment that we've remodeled here is the only apartment she's ever lived alone. One of them is very conditional. She was constantly visited by guests. The doors barely closed. So she says, "Silver is lost." She could hand out right and left by herself, says Elena Voytsekhovskaya, head of the Department of Scientific and Educational Projects of Zaryadye Park. A writing table with an abundance of photos. She pinned them with buttons, pins, even needles from syringes. Here she wrote to friends, colleagues, shared her thoughts and experiences. Thanks to neural networks, Ranevskaya’s letters now sound like her voice. Watercolor drawings are nearby. Faina Georgievna herself admitted that she does not know how to draw, but these works are like a reflection of her inner world, subtle and deep. “She had an excellent education and spoke French quite easily and fluently. She studied painting and could draw. And we found in the archive of RGAL her real works, drawings, watercolors. And here even in the exposition there is a small work of her with the gift inscription Kapitse, commented the curator of the exhibition Anastasia Zhukova. A separate stand is dedicated to the friends of the actress. Among them is Anna Akhmatova, with whom Ranevskaya communicated exclusively on "You", emphasizing her respect for the great poetess. Marina Tsvetaeva, whom Faina Georgievna once cut her hair. And Boris Pasternak, about whom she spoke warmly: "You are no more than four years old." With many of them, the actress met thanks to Catherine Gelzer, approx. ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre. She always said, "I'm lucky with my friends." We have gathered in the multimedia part of her main friends, her mentors, her teachers. Of course, Pavla Wulf, whom she called her mother, whose friendship she carried through her life, said that my mentor was Stanislavsky, the teacher of Pavel Wolf, explains the curator of the exhibition Anastasia Zhukova. Actress Ranevskaya decided to become five years old. Then little Faina spent the whole day mourning the death of her brother, and then went to the mirror to see if she was crying. Cinema didn't become her passion. It's theater! She said she didn’t understand what it meant to be on stage. She lived on it.
