In December last year, the doctor left this post, writes the publication “Fontanka”. The case of “dead souls” in the medical institution was initiated in the autumn of 2024. According to the investigation, representatives of the hospital management for three years (from January 2021 to June 2024) fictitiously employed their relatives and acquaintances as drivers, cleaners, registrars and computer operators. In fact, they did not fulfill their duties, and the salary accrued to them was divided among the participants of the criminal scheme. The head of the regional central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Roman Plugin said at a meeting of the city legislative Assembly in February that more than 880 million rubles of budget funds were stolen in hospital No. 20 through fictitious employment. The criminal case is being investigated, its defendants are including the deputy chief doctor of the hospital, the chief accountant, as well as a woman who was at that time an employee of the administration of the Moscow district of St. Petersburg. In October last year, the Kuibyshevsky district court of the Northern capital sent nine people under arrest in this case.
