Turandot is an amazing fairy tale in which two worlds collide: strict China and romantic Venice. The love story of the cruel-hearted beauty Turandot and Prince Calaf is played out with such genuine passion that sometimes you forget that there are dolls on the stage. A huge moon, Venetian bridges, a black surface of water, a bath in Beijing, gondolas, fans, bells, and, of course, dolls are real works of art. For this performance, they were made of reeds and “taught” to change facial expressions. The author of the play for the puppet theater and director is Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, winner of the Golden Mask award Boris Konstantinov. The artist is the winner of the Golden Mask award Viktor Antonov.
