The participants of the Western summit on Ukraine held in the British capital did not agree on the use of frozen Russian assets. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
At a press conference after the meeting, he noted that a number of countries fear serious consequences for both the euro and the banking system. “It is on this issue that there is no consensus,” Tusk was quoted by TASS news agency as saying earlier that Western representatives at the summit in London did not discuss security guarantees for Ukraine. Moscow has repeatedly called the situation with the misappropriation of income from seized Russian assets in the West a theft. In particular, after the decision of the EU Council to provide a loan of 35 billion euros from frozen assets of the Russian Federation, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova promised a decisive response from Moscow to these actions.
