According to the investigation, in April 1996, the defendant in the criminal case, being part of a criminal group, arrived to meet with opponents, taking a hunting rifle with him. In the course of communication against the background of the redistribution of spheres of criminal influence, a conflict arose, and the man shot at one of the participants in the “negotiations”. He later died in hospital. The accused tried to shoot the second participant of the meeting, but the gun misfired. Seeing the approaching police, he fled the scene. In December 1998, a man came to the apartment with a Makarov pistol to avenge the previous murder. A fight ensued, during which the accused snatched a gun from the attacker and shot him several times. The opponent died on the spot from his injuries. The man fled from justice for more than 25 years, leaving for another region of the country. At the end of 2024, he was detained in Tyumen. During the investigation, the defendant partially admitted his guilt, saying that during the second murder he was forced to defend himself. The criminal case was transferred to the Leninsky District Court of Tomsk.
