According to him, now the conflict is at a point where neither Ukraine, nor Europe, nor the United States can continue it. Therefore, it is important that Kiev sits at the negotiating table. “Public statements are not as important as what the Ukrainians are doing to meaningfully participate in what a peaceful settlement should look like.” We need the Ukrainians to come to us privately and say, ‘This is what we need.’ That's what we want. That’s how we’re going to participate in the process of ending this conflict, Vance said. On February 28, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington to sign an agreement on Ukrainian rare earth resources. However, the negotiations in the Oval Office turned into a scandal. US President Donald Trump and Vice President accused the head of the Kiev regime of disrespect for the host country and unwillingness to establish peace in Ukraine. As a result, Zelensky was kicked out of the White House and said that he could return when he was ready to negotiate a solution to the conflict in his country. The deal also fell through.
