As the head of the Society for Friendship and Cooperation with the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Anatoly Bulochnikov noted to Vedomosti, both sides are interested in cooperation to attract workers, Russian enterprises are already receiving requests for Burmese specialists, mainly for the construction of large facilities and work in industry. Last year, 24 welders from Myanmar arrived to work in Primorsky Krai, another 30 will come in the coming months, a representative of the Russian company Intrud, which selects staff, told the newspaper. According to him, workers were previously taught Russian in Myanmar to pass the exam. On March 7, the Ministry of Construction of the Amur Region also reported that specialists from Myanmar are working on construction sites of the Amur region - welders, concrete workers and installers. “To expand cooperation, a centralized recruitment of Burmese people and a reduction in the cost of their entry into the Russian Federation are needed,” Vedomosti wrote, citing experts. According to the representative of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, the Russian Ministry together with Burmese colleagues are preparing a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of labor. On Sunday, the Consulate General of Myanmar opened in Novosibirsk.
