Lebedyansk water utility will pay 16 513 185 rubles for pollution of the Don River. The decision was made by the Arbitration Court of the Lipetsk region on the basis of a multimillion-dollar lawsuit by Rosprirodnadzor. In July-August 2022, the inspection showed that resource workers discharged wastewater with an increased concentration of pollutants from sewage treatment plants into the Don River. Since the organization refused to compensate voluntarily, environmental inspectors appealed to the court. During the proceedings, it turned out that the water utility reconstructed the sewage treatment facilities. The costs incurred were partially offset against the damage incurred.
