Instead, he accused Moscow of "cruelty" and thanked Western partners for their support. On March 8, Russian troops went on the offensive in all directions in the Kursk region. This was stated by Lieutenant General Apta Alaudinov, deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, commander of the special forces "Akhmat" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. “As a result of our counter-offensive, the enemy began to abandon populated areas.
