Accused of 13 thefts repeat offender will appear in court in Udmurtia. This is reported by the press service of the Republican Prosecutor’s Office. According to investigators, in July 2024, the accused stole 1.5 million rubles from the cabin of a car parked near a residential apartment building on the street named after Tatiana Baramzina in Izhevsk. Also, between April and July 2024, a man in Izhevsk committed 12 thefts from cars whose doors were unlocked. The damage from his actions amounted to more than 177 thousand rubles. With the stolen money, the man purchased a car, which is currently under arrest, a cell phone and clothes. The man is accused of crimes under paragraph “b” of part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft of other people’s property committed on an especially large scale”), part 1 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft of other people’s property”), as well as part 1 of Article 314.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Unauthorized abandonment of a place of residence by a supervised person in order to evade administrative supervision”). The defendant was selected a preventive measure in the form of detention. The criminal case was sent to the Ustinovsky District Court of Izhevsk for consideration on the merits.
