The agent of the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva Ivan Kudryavtsev urged the media to stop the psychological pressure of the athlete and not ask her questions about the return of medals.
Earlier, Kudryavtsev kicked out a journalist from the press approach, who began to ask the skater about medals. He stressed that his ward will not communicate with the media on this topic specifically and comment on the situation in general. “This psychological pressure, under which Camila has been under for many years, must stop,” the athlete’s agent wrote on social media. According to him, journalists are trying to put pressure on Valiev for the sake of obtaining an “exclusive”. Kudryavtsev urged the media to “always remain within the framework” so that such incidents do not happen again. Earlier, the head of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Anton Sikharulidze suggested that Valieva was not required to return medals after disqualification. He explained that this requires the decision of RUSADA as an anti-doping organization. During the 2022 Olympics, it became known about the positive doping test of Kamila Valieva, while the skater passed the test two months before the Games. In January 2024, CAS found Valieva guilty of anti-doping rule violations. She was disqualified for four years.
