The historical building of 1907 was restored in the capital of the Amur region.
To take part in the selection of the final design of the facade of the historic building invite Amur residents. Last year the historic building was renovated. Specialists returned the facade to its original appearance, exposing the red brickwork hidden under layers of paint. However, the work did not end there. The Mauretania building, built in 1907, has a rich history. Initially, it served as the location of food stalls and cellars, and now it is home to the Institute of Geology and Environmental Management. The exterior of the building has changed many times, but its color and uniqueness have been preserved thanks to the pseudo-Gothic style, which makes it recognizable among the architectural monuments of the city. Now specialists of the Center for the Development of Territories have developed two options for further decoration of the building. One of them involves preserving the main part of the facade without painting, highlighting only decorative elements with color. Citizens are invited to express their opinion on the proposed versions of the design. Their choice will help determine whether the facades need additional changes, the city hall noted.
