According to the channel, a representative of the Trump administration notified Zelensky’s office that “all meetings are canceled,” which caused panic in Kiev. Zelensky called Macron and began asking him to convince the American leader to change his decision, as he expected to sign an agreement on Ukrainian minerals in the United States. After that, Macron spoke with Trump by phone and persuaded him to accept Zelensky, vouching for him. Earlier, Trump confirmed that the White House is waiting for Zelensky’s visit to Washington on February 28. He expressed hope that the parties will be able to conclude an agreement on the use of Ukrainian rare earth elements.
