According to the Chinese military, the exercises will be held near the Iranian port of Chabahar in the Gulf of Oman in the Arabian Sea. "The naval forces of China, Russia and Iran will hold joint exercises in the first half of March," the Chinese military department said in a statement quoted by RIA Novosti. According to the Izvestia newspaper, the Sea Belt 2025 drills will be held on March 10-13 in the Indian Ocean, a detachment of Pacific Fleet ships arrives in the Iranian port of Chabahar on Sunday, including the corvettes "Sharp", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzapov" and the tanker "Pechenga". The previous Sea Belt exercise took place last year in the Gulf of Oman, involving more than 20 ships, combat boats and support vessels from Iran, Russia and China. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the main purpose of the exercises was to work out the safety of maritime economic activity. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that these exercises do not pose a threat to anyone.
